Our Community
Shinnyo-en Singapore supports various causes in our community such as inter-racial and interfaith interactions, caring for the elderly, protecting the environment and supporting education.

Interfaith
We are part of the Kembangan Harmony Circle and actively participate in interfaith engagements as part of our commitment to promoting understanding and harmony among diverse religious communities. Our members attend iftar sessions at the invitation of our Muslim friends, visit places of worship to deepen understanding of various faiths, organise tours to the Harmony in Diversity Gallery, and take part in Inter-Religious Organisation (IRO) events.

Caring for Our Seniors
Our members volunteer at Ren Ci Nursing Homes in Ang Mo Kio and Bukit Batok every month. Besides engaging residents in activities, they also help clean the homes of residents so they can return to a fresh and comfortable environment upon returning to their home. Through these visits and activities, we aim to bring cheer, strengthen community bonds, and promote social cohesion through meaningful service.
Environment
Shinnyo-en is commited to maintaining a cleaner and healthier environment. Since the 1990s, our members have carried out monthly morning clean-ups at public areas around Ang Mo Kio, Clementi, Eunos MRT stations and in their neighbourhoods. Shinnyo-en Singapore is also a member of R.I.S.E Champions Network, under the Public Hygiene Council and a supporter of the Keep Singapore Clean campaign.
Education
Since 2007, Shinnyo-en Singapore has been supporting the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at Nanyang Technological University Singapore (NTU).
Our donations provide scholarships for students and support the Go-Far Programme (Going Overseas for Advanced Reporting). The Go-Far programme is a hands-on course in advanced journalism reporting that immerse students in the challenges of operating in another country and culture, sharing their experience as a foreign correspondent when they return to Singapore.
We also welcome students to our temple as part of their learning journeys. Our youth members act as guides, introducing students to Shinnyo-en and showing them around the temple.
