Shinnyo-en Singapore 2015 Annual Training
Opening Period (23 Jan – 25 Jan)
Closing Period ( 31 Jan – 2 Feb)
At the beginning of every calendar year Shinnyo-en members throughout the world join at their local temples for the Annual Training – a time to engage in study, training, and rededication to the founding insights of Shinnyo-en.
This Annual Training is conducted in acknowledgement and following the example of the Shinnyo founders, Shinjo and Tomoji Ito, who personally undertook their own first formal spiritual training in the winter of 1936 in Japan. At that time they found the resolve to “dedicate our lives to helping people . . . [to] walk the way together with the buddhas and guide those in suffering.”
In Singapore, the Annual Training will commence on January 23 Jan – 25 Jan (Opening Period) and conclude on 31 Jan – 2 Feb (Closing Period) at the Shinnyo-en Singapore temple, the training will comprise of meditation, sutra chanting, dharma talks and sharing of testimonials by practitioners.
